Vintage Omega Speedmaster Quartz LCD Gold/Stainless Steel

£995.00

A superb example of Omega’s pioneering digital design,

this vintage Quartz LCD model first introduced in 1977 showcases the brand’s early mastery of electronic watchmaking.

Featuring the Calibre 1620 module, the watch displays time in either 12 or 24-hour format.

The top left button toggles between displaying the seconds or the day of the month, while a set of indicator arrows along the bottom edge of the screen point to the current day of the week.

A triple press of the top left button enters Chronograph mode. Timing functions are intuitive: Start/Stop is controlled via the top right button, and Lap/Reset via the lower right.

Illumination is provided by a backlight activated with the centre-right button, offering an even glow across the display thanks to a clear diffuser panel fitted behind the LCD — a neat detail that enhances legibility in low light.

Time-setting is accessed via a corrector button located at the bottom left of the case.

This piece is in excellent condition for its age. The case and bracelet have clearly been well cared for. Unlike many examples of this model, the high-quality 20 micron gold plating has held up remarkably well, with only minimal signs of wear on the corners.

The bracelet shows light marks from use, with one noticeable mark present. The clasp displays some wear through to the stainless steel beneath — entirely expected and consistent with careful long-term ownership.
